Black Lives Matter
Black lives matter and, now more than ever, so do our actions. As a team, we stand in solidarity with black community and all BIPOC. We hear you. We’re learning from you. We commit to taking meaningful action.
Our values
We have 4 values we live by here at 8fit.
Be brave. Have compassion. Be accountable. Have fun.
Year after year, those impacted by racism, white supremacy, and police brutality have endured pain, suffering, and loss. Even through this trauma, they’ve found the strength to be brave, have compassion, be accountable, and yes, even have fun.
Now, it’s our turn to truly live up to these values – not just internally but within our communities. It’s time for us to speak louder. It’s our mission to make everyone feel welcome in the 8fit community.
We’ve set out to transform the concept of fitness from the pursuit of perfection, to a liberating journey of healthy, body positive, and lasting changes.
For all.
Here are some of the immediate actions we commit to:
We put out a call to our community to collect resources – podcasts, documentaries, books, activists – that they’ve been learning from. Find the list below or add to it here.
To live our values even deeper, we commit to using our platform for more good. Every month, we’ll host one charity event with one of our coaches. We’ll kick things off with our yoga teacher, Mel Douglas. Stay tuned on Instagram for more details.
We have, for some time now, focused our attention on representing more shapes, sizes, and colors inside the app – and on our social channels – but we know we could do better. We commit to making sure everyone feels represented in the 8fit app.
Resources from our community, for our community
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing list. We appreciate you.
